When the aim of the local authority is to differentiate itself as “a dynamic communality with unique opportunities for self-realisation” – does this mean that quality of life, location, or something else entirely is the central factor? What is the ‘something else entirely’?
The town Council have decided to invest approximately DKK 250 million annually in new, aesthetically pleasing installations and noteworthy town development projects aimed to create the framework for good living. Among other things, the town square is to be developed into a busy city space and young city life is to be cultivated via a “street zone” in Silkeborg town centre.
But how do we create vibrant city living? How do we develop city spaces into attractive areas to be and to do business and even attractive for event-making? How do we create a city that will both retain the existing and attract new citizens, investment, and companies?
We invite to a conversation salon and networking event.
A conversation salon is a professional pot-luck of conversations that surprise and move us and that may create business opportunities across boundaries – for prime movers, urban developers, researchers, business people, and architects. We ask the questions, you control the conversation.
The salon theme is Life and Space, and you will come up against conversation topics such as: What is good living? What comes first, framework or space? Are spaces important for living?
No preparation or prior knowledge is required for participation. All you need is a desire to meet new people and to talk with them on the basis of your own professional background, attitudes, and ideas.
